Pitched! Back in the Game.

Today I sent my first pitch to a major publication.

It’s my first step back into writing for magazines since my time at the San Antonio Express-News, and it feels like coming home to a part of myself I set down years ago. Life pulled me in other directions for a while, but the work never really left me. It just waited.

Now that I’m back on my writing grind, I’ve made a decision:

go hard or go home.

I sent my first pitch today with the intention of making it a trend, not a one-off. I’m writing about the things that have always mattered to me — life, death, morality, and culture — and I’m doing it with the same seriousness I brought to journalism before, just with more lived experience behind it.

No expectations. No guarantees. Just forward motion.

This is what starting again looks like.

“Back in the Game” isn’t about being published yet. It’s about returning to the process. I’m back because I took the step that matters most: I clicked send.
