Dead Signal: Ghost Run Origin

Image
UNMUTE AUDIO 06/28/2026 Over the past several entries, Life is a Storm has taken a different direction. The series titled The In-Between has been my attempt to better understand what may exist beyond this life. Not necessarily where we ultimately end up, but the phase in between—the unseen, the transition, and the questions that have fascinated humanity for generations. As I continued reading articles, watching videos, and exploring different perspectives, I kept running into the same thing: pages that wouldn't load, weak connections, and dead signals. It almost felt symbolic. Here I was searching for answers while struggling to establish a connection. During one of those moments, the familiar little T-Rex game appeared while there was no internet connection. That's when a thought crossed my mind. "This belongs in the Life is a Storm world." Not the dinosaur itself, but the concept. What if, instead of a dinosaur run...

The In-Between: Part Two Exploration of the Transition Between Life and Death Part 3 of 3

UNMUTE AUDIO 06/27/2026 As I continued my research in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of what happens when we die, I found myself wanting to hear from as many different perspectives as possible. My goal wasn't to prove anyone right or wrong. I simply wanted to understand how different people viewed the transition between life and death and how they arrived at those conclusions. At this point, I had already spoken with Mr. Mac, whose perspective was rooted firmly in his Christian faith. I had also caught back up with Priscilla after our unexpected encounter at Walmart, where she shared her experiences as a medium. As different as their perspectives were, I still found myself wanting to explore further. I decided to search locally for a psychic. After calling around, I eventually reached a woman who introduced herself as Sister Mary. Before getting into the reason for my call, she asked me for my name and a little information about myse...

The In-Between: Part Two Exploration of the Transition Between Life and Death Part 2 of 3

UNMUTE AUDIO 06/25/2026 B y the time Mr Mac contacted me, I was already inside the hospital, sitting quietly in the cafeteria waiting for him. I let him know where he could meet me, and he told me he was on his way with a friend, a brother in Christ. They were heading to the hospital to pray over his friend and neighbor, Eddie. From what I understood, Eddie was not just someone Mr Mac had met recently. He had known him for years, possibly decades. As long as I have known Mr Mac, Eddie had been part of his life in some way. I believe I met Mr Mac a little over twenty years ago. His full name is McKinley Darden, but I have always known him simply as Mr Mac. He was never really my pastor in the traditional sense. I visited his church a few times over the years, but our relationship was never built around regular church attendance. It was built around friendship, fellowship, camaraderie, and mutual respect. We originally met in an insuran...

The In-Between: Part Two Exploration of the Transition Between Life and Death Part 1 of 3

UNMUTE AUDIO 06/25/2026 T he day started with me looking forward to seeing the chiropractor, particularly Dr. Greenwell. Before I could leave, though, I needed to wash some clothes. That meant spending some time in the laundry room with Lily, the new calico kitten. I quickly discovered she's a little spicy. She loves to play, but once she gets worked up, she doesn't quite know how to calm herself back down. She also doesn't understand the concept of personal space. If I'm in the room, she wants to be right beside me, on me, or climbing all over whatever I'm trying to do. She craves constant attention, and although I know that's fairly typical for kittens, she seems to take it to another level. Unfortunately, I never did get the washing machine working. Even after spending a good part of the morning troubleshooting it, it refused to cooperate. My dad eventually woke up and asked if I wanted breakfast. He made two eggs ov...

The In-Between: Part One — The Quantum Field (Framework)

Image
UNMUTE AUDIO 06/24/2026 I 've recently found myself exploring the idea of the quantum field—not from a scientific perspective, but from a philosophical and spiritual one. The way I understand it, the quantum field represents possibility. Not a single future. Not a fixed destiny. Possibility. Imagine standing before an infinite number of roads. Each road represents a different version of your future. A different life. A different outcome. A different version of yourself. Most people attempt to change their lives while remaining the same person. They want a different future while maintaining the same beliefs, fears, habits, attachments, and identity that produced the present one. But if reality is a reflection, then perhaps the reflection isn’t what needs to change first. Perhaps the image does. Recently, I came across a creator named Ari who discusses manifestation, identity, and shifting perspectives. One idea that stood out to me was the co...

Flowers Within the Fog — Part Two

06/24/2026 I left the clinic carrying more than a cat carrier. Somewhere between Tanya's stories, seeing old schoolmates, learning that Lily would need her own space until her testing came back, and realizing that she wasn't chipped and didn't belong to anyone else, I had quietly crossed a line. I wasn't helping a lost cat anymore. I was keeping one. I also left the clinic with a little more information about Lily than I had when I arrived. The vet tech estimated her age at around eight months old, which was right around where I had guessed. Apparently I'm getting pretty good at estimating cat ages. Her story is just beginning. The clinic also reinforced something I already knew was coming. Until her testing and vaccinations are complete, she and Monkey need to remain separated. It's the responsible thing to do. For now, Monkey has his space, Lily has hers, and I'm doing my best to keep both cats happy while figuring out what life look...
